1 - Chiado Café Literário

3 - Fábrica Coffee Roasters

Homemade coffee, almost roasted right in front of you, great pastry and even Art Latte, all in an unforgettable place that will make you fall in love with coffee all over again. If you're just looking for a "quick cup" this is not the place. It will be hard just to choose which one to try.
Perfect for a chilled out afternoon even if you are not in the mood for coffee. They have the best homemade beer and great snacks.

4 - A Brasileira

Rua Garrett 120, 1200 Lisboa

Lisbon's most famous cafe and one of the oldest, A Brasileira used to be a meeting spot for writers, paintors and intellectuals in the beginning of the 20th century. Fernando Pessoa, the most important poet in portuguese literature, was one of the few artists that made the place famous.
It's almost impossible to leave Lisbon without passing right in front of A Brasileira to admire it's beauty and history. And if you want to know how portuguese people like their coffee, this is the place!

5 - Pois, Café

In the oldest part of Lisbon, next to Sé, this is the perfect stop to have lunch and enjoy the city's natural charm. A small coffee place, that makes everyone feel at home, with excellent food and lots of options.

If you're wondering what kind of pastry is there in Portugal, Confeitaria Nacional is the place to find out. Considered one of the city's jewels and one of the oldest cafes in Lisbon, in here you can taste almost every kind of tradicional pastry produced in the country, with high quality standards.
And if pastry is definitly not what you're interested in, know that Confeitaria Nacional is considered to be one of the most beautiful cafes in Europe.

7 - Kaffeehaus

Near one of the most important theaters in Lisbon, São Carlos, Kaffehaus is the perfect place to stop for coffee in case you are in Chiado.
Try the homemade Apfelstrudel and other austrian specialties, while enjoying the famous sunny days in Lisbon.
You won't try any portuguese food, probably, but you will walk in the old part of town with lots of energy after a quick stop there.

8 - Brick Cafe

Probably the best place to have brunch in Lisbon, this lovely cafe, in Anjos, is a cosy nice way to start your day in the city. Enjoy a nice meal, stay for as long as you like and discover a different part of Lisbon.
The Anjos area is changing fast and new restaurants, bars and cafes are a pleasant cheaper new reality.

9 - Pastéis de Belém

The most famous portuguese custard tarts are one of the city's attractions and a great place to start if you are visiting Belém. Close to the river and Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, this is the cafe to try the best of portuguese pastry.
Pastéis de Belém is a fantastic, enormous place, with tradicional portuguese decoration, fast service and great coffee. A 'monument' in one of the most beautiful neighborhoods you'll ever see.

10 - Royale Café

An elegant and charming cafe, with amazing food and service, and a perfect stop in the middle of the afternoon for everyone that is visiting Chiado and Bairro Alto.
The decoration is incredible and there is a pleasent patio that hads a lot of charm to the place. In here you can try food from all arround the world and you won't be desappointed.
